Shan is a 17yr old Carlow girl fighting a rare form of multi system Histiocytosis X which is an
autoimmune/ rare cancer disease.
While undergoing treatment she wrote an emotionally charged poem, detailing the harsh emotional
journey she is currently on.
Inspied by the poem Declan Caffery decided to put it to music, hoping this may raise the profile of her
cause and help raise the much needed funds to continue effective treatment of her illness.
The next step for Shan is treatment in Texas, this is an expensive but necessary trip which will rely
predominatly on donations and fund rasing.

Never thought I'd feel this way.
The treatment was so much.
I went so pale and quiet.
Got frail to the touch.
Summer of hospitals over.
School times come around.
Every one stared at me.
But no-one made a sound.

They treated me so differently .
Like I was going to die.
All the faith I thought I had.
Soon turned into a lie.
Its been six months now.
I feel grey with pain.
I'll always wish to be ok.
But is it all to late.
